printing landscape on word 2003

I print my documents on winXP from word 2003 on an HP1000 laserjet.
Usually my documents have equal margins on both sides.
when printing on A4 in portrait format the outprint is OK.
however when printing in landscape, the the outprint moves sidewise and the margins on the left side of the paper are larger by about 2 cm, and on the right accordingly smaller.
what can be the problem and how can it be corrected.
when printing on win98, word 97 such dudn't occur.
please advise

Where are you changing the format? In your printer settings or in Word's Page Setup?

only in word page setup

Then you also need to change to landscape in your printer options.
