I'm having a problem with this that I've never come across before. I have some messages that have apparently been sent, but they remain in the Outbox folder. They keep resending, but I cannot delete them from the folder.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
t

First open Windows Explorer, click on Tools, Folder Options. Then click View. Put a check mark where it says Show hidden files and folders.
Next open Outlook Express, Tools, Options. When the new window opens click the Maintenance tab. Next look for the button that says Store Folder, click it. A box will appear that says your personal message store is located in the following folder. Highlight the whole string that is under that. Next right click and say Copy. Close Outlook Express.
Go to Start-Search-All files and folders. Right click in the box that says All or part of the file name, select Paste, then Search. After doing that it should bring up a folder named Outlook Express, click it open, and when you see a folder named Outbox dbx, right click on it and say Delete.
Next open outlook Express and you should see a new Outbox folder with nothing in it.

Thanks, degsy...

I have two outbox dbx files... one says Outbox.dbx and the other says Outbox (1).dbx.

Do I delete both or just the one?

I think you meant to reply to me. To tell you the truth I've never seen Outbox (1) dbx listed, but you might try deleting that one first to see if things straighten out. If not then delete the Outbox dbx also.

Whoops... sorry IPR! My bad... I'll try the (1) first and see what happens...

Deleting the (1) seems to have worked and doesn't appear to be repeating it!

Thanks, IPR!

You're very welcome, I'm glad that helped.
If any of the other folders in Outlook Express become corrupted you can follow the same instructions to delete them, and they will be recreated after you open Outlook Express again.

Yes it is a great site to come to for help, I've had to ask for help here myself a few times.
