router problems
I got a used router from my office and passed it on to a friend. He had the internet hooked up today and it works great on his desk top but he is unable to hook up his laptop to the wireless router. Does it need to be reprogrammed? It is giving him the same log in as I did when I used it at work
Thanks in advance |

It doesn't need to be reprogrammed. It may need to be configured. If you don't know the router administration password, use the factory reset button (may need a paper clip), and look up the manufacturer's website for the default username and password.
Once in, you will need to ensure that: -WiFi functionality is enabled -If a MAC filter is enabled, it includes the MAC address of any computer you wish to connect wirelessly -If WEP/WPA encryption is enabled (and it should be), that you know the passphrase and setup the same pass on any computer you connect wirelessly
