Frustrating? Yeah. Can't Connect.
So I got this used Dell laptop, but it was from an IT guy and it was cheap, so I figured it would be good. And it is, except for the wireless. I never really messed around with it until I got to school, and tried to connect to the network. The network shows up under available networks, but fails to connect.
So I go to Wireless settings, and get an error message that says "Date Frame Errors, Check WEP settings", or it simply says not linked. Under "State" or status I guess, it says Unable to communicate with device driver. So i've only done one thing that works, sort of. I can go to the wireless connection properties and uncheck this box that says "Use Windows to configure my wireless network". The only problem with this is that although I can connect to the internet, the school network disappears under available networks, and this solution only works for a short while. I've tried a few other solutions, and I feel like i'm almost there. I realize this may sound like a lot of rubbish, so if you need any other details let me know. |
