Frustrating? Yeah. Can't Connect.

So I got this used Dell laptop, but it was from an IT guy and it was cheap, so I figured it would be good. And it is, except for the wireless. I never really messed around with it until I got to school, and tried to connect to the network. The network shows up under available networks, but fails to connect.

So I go to Wireless settings, and get an error message that says "Date Frame Errors, Check WEP settings", or it simply says not linked. Under "State" or status I guess, it says Unable to communicate with device driver.

So i've only done one thing that works, sort of. I can go to the wireless connection properties and uncheck this box that says "Use Windows to configure my wireless network". The only problem with this is that although I can connect to the internet, the school network disappears under available networks, and this solution only works for a short while. I've tried a few other solutions, and I feel like i'm almost there. I realize this may sound like a lot of rubbish, so if you need any other details let me know.

This worries me the most. Have you tried reinstalling the device driver from scratch?

That is because windows is no longer used to configure the wireless networks. This option should only be used if your wireless card has its own configuration utility.
