Why can't i reinstall XP when i have Vista?..

im so tired of this crap operating system, i'm trying to reformat my pc and get a fresh install of xp going instead of this vistacrap. When i put in the xp cd, "Install Windows" is grayed out..what the crap? I just want to erase the entire partition and start from scratch..

Howdy:

First of all, is this a new system that came pre-installed with Vista? If so, going back to XP may well void any warranty.

Also, have you checked to make sure there are XP drivers available for your hardware?

Lastly, are you booting with the XP cd or trying to install XP through Windows?
