I upgraded one of my computers from XP to Vista (Basic).
I installed Roxio 8, but ran in compatibility issues, so I uninstalled it (I thought).
I used the Roxio installation CD that has the option: update, repair or uninstall.
After the uninstall was completed I get a rundll error message referring to shared Roxio files, every time I start my computer.
From the looks of it, I don't think the uninstall completed correctly. And where can I find the 'Add/Remove Programs' option like in XP? The Vista Control panel does not show this option.

Question one: How do I get rid of all the Roxio garbage that stayed behind?
Question 2: What CD/DVD burning software works under Vista?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Question one: How do I get rid of all the Roxio garbage that stayed behind?

Hi solyluna, you best bet is to reinstall Roxio 8, reboot and go to Control Panel > Programs and Features and uninstall it from there. This time, do not elect to remove shared files if asked. Reboot again and let us know if this fixed your problem.

Question 2: What CD/DVD burning software works under Vista?

Both Roxio and Nero offer software that is compatible with Vista. Check out their sites.

OK - I'll try to reinstall Roxio 8 and see what happens after I uninstall it again.

I like Vista so far - but it takes some getting used to.....

Yep, me too. Sure it does take a little getting used to but it wouldnt be as much fun if it didnt require a learning curve. :D

AnnMarie,
Thanks - it looks like it worked.
Wasted some time reinstalling and uninstalling but I got rid of the rundll error message.
For now I'll do my CD/DVD burning on my XP computer. That one has no problems with Roxio 8.
Thanks again for your help!
