Can use some advise, thank you.
I wasn't able to transfer or load my "Pictures It 2002" cd to my new Gateway GT5464 Personal Computer with VISTA, so I need to know what my best bet is for what to buy that will have at least the features my old Pictures It 2002 had, I hardly ever used it anymore on my old computer, but knowing it was there to use if I wanted was a comfort.
Thank You,

to be honest, I am not that familiar with pictureit and the features it has. Personally I use Photoshop Elements (http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshopelwin/)and Gimp (http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/stable.html) for photo editing. Lately I have been leaning towards Gimp since its free and does a whole lot more than most photo editors. My Photoshop Elements is out of date and I am too cheap to upgrade. :D
There is a general editing program called Ifranview (http://www.irfanview.com/) that is pretty popular and its free also.

Thanks Dan,
I went to the 2 free ones but didn't see that they would work on VISTA, then went to the Adobe Photoshop, and found out it cost $99.00, so decided then and there that I can get by without a photo editor program.

Gimp does work with vista. The first time you start it, it will take forever to load, in fact, it looks like it freezes at the fonts, but after that, its fast. I have it on two computers with vista.
As far as Irfanview, I just downloaded and installed it and messed with a graphic I had, it works with vista also. :D

I use Irfanview and it hasn't had a problem on Vista.

Dan and Miz,
After reading your replies I downloaded Irfanview, It had no resemblance of what I was looking for, so I removed it from my computer. I just don't know enough about computers plus at my age I have a hard time retaining things I learn, so I'm just going to forget about editing pictures. I do appreciate your trying to help me though, I get a little panic when I venture very far away from sending email, the only reason I understand a little about forums is because I belong to guitar forum (Guitar for Beginners and Beyond GFB&B.) I goofed up enough times learning my way around that forum that some of how to do it has stuck with me.
Thank's again,

Just a note, I found and downloaded a FREE picture program with some easy editing capabilities, nothing as elaborite as I had on my XP, but a lot better than what came with my Vista, at least that the way I see it.
It's Picasa2.
