Hi

On our broadband plan we are limited to 5GB a month before we are throttled to dial up speed. The problem I have is my daughter chews through that amount with her downloading from Limewire and various other pass times. Is there any way that I can limit limewire downloads (That is limit how much she can download) ?

There are two ways, you can limit the time limewire is allowed access to the internet via settings in the router, (or if you're not using a router, in the firewall), or you can use something like Netlimiter (http://www.netlimiter.com/)

taking a belt to the bottom would work perfectly :D however, if that is not an option, then go here for several utilities (http://www.download.com/3120-20_4-0.html?tg=dl-20&qt=limit%20bandwidth&tag=srch) that will help. You can also do a search there for parental control.

I like the sound of that option :D . Unfortunately I feel it would only be a short term measure as you know what teenagers can be like.
