Hi,

I have a small dilema. I have to give a talk at a location that does not have a lot of technical facilities. I need to show show a couple of chapters of a DVD and then some still photos to illustrated my talk. Previously I've either used the laptop to play the DVD or DVD player and Adobe Photoshop for the slideshow both bening fed into a projector. But this venue is low tech and someone has offered to bring a DVD player to connect to a conventional TV.

So what I'm thinking of doing is trying to burn my photos to a DVD so they can be played a stills on the DVD player. I can't play a CD on a DVD player can I? although I'm not 100% understanding the VCD format. So any ideas about converting the still JPEG images to files that can burn on to a DVD?

If you have a dvd burner and are using Windows XP or Vista, both have Windows Movie Maker that allows you to create a slideshow effect to burn to dvd and thus allowing them to be shown in a standalone dvd player.

A good tutorial can be found in the link below:
