When I boot up my dell Dimension 4100 desktop computer with my 160GB Maxtor external harddrive hooked up it recognizes the harddrive as a printer and asks for me to install it. I want put XP on the external harddrive and leave 2000 on my computers internal harddrive. The harddrive did not come with a driver disk. What do i do? My other option is to use the "laptop to desktop harddrive converter" and hook up my laptop harddrive in place of my desktop hd. Will this work? Will i need to repair the XP drivers or do anything of this sort?
