i just bought a new computer

and i was wondering if i could use my tv instead of a monitor because it had one of those yellow things that is also on the tv. the av out port, i have a cable that fits in there and the tv and both ends are for video i just am wondering what to do. when i plug it in i just get static on the tv.

any help is appreciated

Your link is broken.
If you have a GeForce card, go to the Nvidia Control Panel and go to the TV options.
If you have a Radeon, there should be a TV Out checkbox in the ATI Control Panel.

i tried that i have nvidia it wouldnt work but i found out i have an svideo cable so i am just going to use that. the port looked wierd so i had no idea what it was thanks any way

sounds like you might need an S-Video to composite adapter. the yellow video input on your card might actually be a video input. I had the same problem, so I bought an svideo to composite adapter and after changing some video card settings my desktop finally showed up on my tv. anyways checkout the link below for more info on setting it up, its a page from Nvidia's website.
