Hi
Firstly, apologies if I ask questions which are obvious to the tech-savvy! I know very little about networking and so sorry in advance for any 'newbie' questions!
I have an Xbox 360 hooked up to my iMac via Ethernet cable. I have Internet sharing turned on on my iMac. I receive a wireless Internet signal to my iMac via a wireless router.
With this setup, I can play Xbox live through my iMac. My iMac has to be on for my Xbox to connect to the Internet - however that does not duly bother me.
However, my Xbox NAT type is Strict, which means I can only play games against those who have an 'Open' status or something.
My question is: how can I configure my iMac/Router/Xbox so that
a) my iMac connects to the Internet wirelessly (as it currently does)
b) my Xbox 360 is linked to the Mac via ethernet cable (as it currently is)
c) my Xbox 360's NAT type is Open, or at least Moderate.
I have done some research on the Internet and think I may need to do some portfowarding or something, but I have no idea what this is or how to do it.
Any suggestions of how to improve my NAT type would be greatly appreciated! Bear in mind though how technically inept I am!
Thanks again
