I am scanning a picture book (colour drawings ~ A4 size, not photos).
I insert the pictures of about ½ A4 size into a Word file, I add text and I convert the pages to pdf for uploading into my site.
In order to make the file open quickly I try to reduce the volume (kb) of the files to minimum, without impairing the picture details.
I want to know what is the best way to deal with the pictures: scan at 150 dpi, reduce the file size and then enlarge them in Word? Scan at a lower resolution? Or some another way?
Can anybody advise or give an address of an appropriate tutorial?
