I have set up Quicken (2003) to log on automatically @ night to update my account on a regular basis. This works fine and I really like this feature. I use AOL (version 8) for my internet access. The problem is that after Quicken downloads the information from my bank and shuts down it leaves AOL running. Unless I manually log off of AOL it continues to run thus tying up my phone line. I have missed several important calls because of this. I have talked to Intuit and AOL tech support and neither one says they can fix the problem. It kind of defeats the purpose of an automatic update if I have to manually log off AOL everytime. Anybody know a way around this?

I don't use Quicken or AOL, so I know nothing about either, but I would imagine that somewhere in AOL's options there is a way to set the connection to drop if it is idle for X amount of time. This would not make it hang up immediately, but better than nothing.

Also, if you haven't done so already, look through Quicken's options and see if there is a way to have it hang up when transfers finish. If it autodials your connection to get your nightly updates then it seems likely there is an option to have it hang up on completion.
