Help on PC Upgrade to Play a Game

I got a problem I need Help on upgrading my PC for Better Game play can anyone help me? My Operating System is XP.

My current system specification is:

Motherboard: Asus K8N – LR Socket 939

Processor: Athlon 64 3600

RAM: 2 GigaBytes generic PC3200 DDR

Graphics Card: Nvidia Geforce 7800GTX

Sound Card: On-board sound

Well, if anything, i'd upgrade your processor to an athlon x2, or an opteron, even though opteron is meant for servers, it is still a good processor for a regualr pc

also i'd upgrade to a newer graphics card, like to an nvidia 8800gts/gtx/ultra that ranges from cheapest to most expensive
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130071 that is cheaper, but if money isn't a problem then go for an ultra, or an ati chipset
and maybe you could upgrade your ram, maybe get another 2 gigs
atleast that is what i would upgrade if i wanted more performance.
