I am sure where I should place this question.

I just puchased a new Laptop they loaded WIN2000. My old (piece of !$#^#&) laptop that only lasted 1 1/2 years was a TOSHIBA and was running WIN98.

I would like to mirror my Toshiba hdd to my new laptop. I found two softwares that I am considering. Disk2Disk says they can't go from 98 to 2000. But if I reformat my new drive and use 98 I can use Disk2Disk.

I have emailed CompuApps's (the 2nd software)Tech Support to find out if they can mirror from 98 to 2000.

My question is does anyone know of a software that can accomplish this? .

My last question is if no software can do this, can it be done with reformating the new drive and loading 98?

In both cases taking into consideration the problems with drivers

Thanx
Trudye :)

System Commander will do what you are looking to do. Don't ask about system mirroring though, that's not what you are doing. When you mirror a drive, you are running the exact same drive on two separate drives, the system goes to whatever drive is available first, and eventually keeps both drives looking identical for fault tolerance. You need to partition for dual-booting. System Commander and Partition Magic are both excellent at this, and they do not require you to reload your system. They take a good deal of time to run in some cases, so plan on letting it run over-night and the wait won't feel so long. Good Luck with the laptop, I use Fujitsu's myself - indestructable, fast, reliable, and really nice looking (titanium case).
