Hey guys,
I need some help with photoshop 7.0 im trying to put a picture then FADE text over it... could any one tell me how to do this?
I would be VERY thankful.

If you mean moving faded text, photoshop won't do that but ImageReady will. ImageReady is a gif animator.
If that's now what you mean, please explain what you do mean.

hard to explain sorry...
ok say i had a background of a car and i want to write on it *my car*
but i still want to see the car int he background not write over it. i want the text faded so i can see the car int he background aswell as the text.

That was easier to understand. You need to create your text in a separate window, color it any color you want, then fill it with the paint bucket. Now when you chose the paint bucket you can chose what Opacity the fill should be. I use lots less than 100%, something like 20 to 30% fill opacity. At least that is how I do it. Someone may have a better suggestion.

I'd make a new layer just for the text and then adjust the opacity for that layer.

What rockboy said. Creating a new text layer and adjusting the opacity is the way to go.
