Arrows! Oh No!
Ok, so my computer is pretty old but still decent. 3.00 GhZ Pentium 4, 1024 MB of RAM, nVidia GeForce 6800 XT, etc. Anyway, my computer is more than capable to play the games that I want, including World of Warcraft, Team Fortress 2, Counter-Strike, Sims 2, BF2, etc. My computer used to run these games fine (except for TF2 which just came out) but about 2 or 3 months ago I started having these issues.
I load up the game and I can play it perfectly without incident for about 5 minutes. Then, all of a sudden, these weird lines start appearing from all over focused on the center. At first its just a little flash here and there. They look like elongated white or black triangles that extend from the side of my screen to the center of my screen. After a minute of the first ones appearing, they end up all over my screen massively distorting my view and slowing me down so I can't play. At first I thought it was my video card so I got a new one, but the problem persists. Anyone know anything about this problem? Thanks! |

How is the dust situation inside your computer? Cleaned it lately? Usually heat related problems with playing games causes artifacting.

My computer was recently cleaned, but I might as well try again. Is there any chance that my motherboard is just fried from years of gaming?
