I'm cleaning out items from my Add/Remove feature and noticed that quite a bit of space is being used by "Microsoft.net Framework 2.0" and my less space is being used by "Microsoft.net Framework 1.1 Hotfix".
Can I remove these items or are they necessary?
Please give me answers in layman's terms because i am NOT computer savvy in a technical way.
Thanks in advance.

As already stated, really depends on the software that your are running, i.e. is the software package dependent on having a version of MS.NET Framework installed? .NET Framework provides a platform of programs/applets that can readily be used by other software w/o the need to program in all of code - e.g. I'm using a graphics program called Paint.NET which requires a recent version of MS.NET - you may have software on your computer that also requires this MS offering - check out the review on Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.NET_Framework) for further explanation(s) - now, I'm not sure 'how many' versions of this software you need installed, and whether more recent versions contain the features of older ones, so that safe deletion is not a problem? Maybe others will provide some more definite answers? Good luck - and if the amount of space is not a BIG issue and you're not sure, leave the programs stay - but just my opinion!
