Call of Duty 4 problem

so ive been playing call of duty 4 recently since the release. and only recently (3 days) has it started screwing up. Everytime i try to connect to a server, it takes an extra long time to load, and then it tells me ive been disconnected. This only happens the first time i connect though, the next time i attempt to connect it is successful. then everytime the round ends i get the same error.
Ive tried reinstalling, multiple times. and that hasnt helped. Ive also tried ccleaner to clean out junk files that may have mad a problem, but that didnt work. Ive also put in a support ticket with activision, but they probably wont help. so i could use some help here if anyone has had this problem or can help me.

i dont know why thats relevant but i live in the USA. ive heard from a few people that it may be a computer problem, which makes a little sense since i have been seeing things such as instability and very slow startup times. is there a way to test for instability in my mobo or cpu? i ran memtest all night and it did not come up with any errors. so ive ruled that out.

Hmm maybe theres nothing rong with ur computer its probally just slow and you connect slow to servers

i fixed the problem, i installed xp pro, MCE sucks. you can close the thread.

I am not able to start call of duty 4 on my system. I am able to play in multi player mode but not as a single player. Can you tell me what can be the problem.

inter core 2 duo 1.7Gh
2 GB DDR3 ram
Nvidia 7900 GS
