Hi I am using Vista Home Basic. When I click on a a link in a text received in Outlook Express, I get a message "Application not Found" and the link does not work. Any ideas? Thanks.

Hi EIRCOMNET 1942. Close Windows Mail and click on the Start button and choose "Default Programs". Click on "Set your Default Programs" and click on Windows Mail. If it reports that it is not using all defaults, click on "Set this program as default". See here (http://www.vista4beginners.com/Set-your-default-programs) for more help. Did this fix your problem?

I have tried this and it reports "This program has all its defaults". Strangely it would then come up on Firefox instead. Maybe it had something to do with downloading Firefox.

Maybe it's internet explorer has the problem, it proclaims 3 out of 9 defaults. Remember I'm tqalking about any link that appears at the bottom when you highlight the message.

Are you saying that you can now open the links but they open in Firefox? If so, that's because Firefox has been set as your default browser.

Go ahead and set IE as default if this is what you want to do.

How do I do this AnnMarie? Set IE to "all default settings"? Does that affect security? Thanks.

Click on "Set your Default Programs" and click on Internet Explorer and then click on "Set this program as default"

Does that affect security?

No, it sets Internet Explorer as your default browser.
