Hi,
I hope you can help me - I'm so frustrated!!
I just had cable installed for my broadband and had a real headache trying to connect to the internet afterwards, but discovered that I had to lower my laptop's security and then had to reset my router. All was fine until I discovered that my pc won't connect to the internet. It picks up the wireless connection (via a usb adaptor) but won't actually connect to the internet. Somebody suggested uninstalling the usb adaptor drivers then re-installing but that hasn't made any difference.
Can you help?

Hello, Lazer, and welcome to the CTH Forum!

Your might first clarify your setup; I'm assuming that you have a cable modem (supplied by your ISP, bought separately, or part of the router?) - do you have more that one computer (can't tell from your description above)? But if you do have a desktop, I assume there is a NIC inside w/ an ethernet port - if not, your laptop should have the same. Before attempting using wireless off the router, try to hardwire your cable modem & router to the computer, and see if you can get that combination working; if so, your router will have a setup program that will require an URL (see the manual) - if this does not help, then the information provided may allow others to provide suggestions - good luck!
