Laptop and Modem
So basically I'm a gamer and my sister always like to watch movies on her laptop that often involves buffers, and we both have laptops which require wireless internet. As a result, my game always lag really bad, so I tried to hook my laptop directly with the router that's connected to modem at my parent's PC with an ethernet cable. It says it's connected with 100 mbp or osmething like that but the internet itself doesn't work. So my sister tried with her laptop and it doesn't work either. But it doesn't make any sense since my parent's PC is hooked with an ethernet cable to the router also...I was wondering is there a setting that I need to enable to be able to directly connected to the router/modem? Thanks.
