Bandwidth and upload/download speed

hi,
i have read online that Upload and download speed are suppose to be rather similar in speed for online games/downloads/streaming video to run smoothly and without serious lag spikes

When i run speed tests on my computer i experience a download speed of around 15000 KBPS (probably due to the speed booster i have on my router) but can only upload information at aprox 1300 KBPS

can this cause serious latency issues?

what are possible fixes for this issue?

Welcome to the CTH Forum - :happy: Of course, your bandwidth will vary w/ a number of factors, but is primarily determined by your ISP provider - I use a Road Runner cable modem and download speed is about 10x faster than going in the other direction (of course fine for most people not playing web games or uploading huge files); Time Warner offers different packages (and more costly) that might improve these speeds, so you first option might to check w/ your ISP provider.
