View Full Version : IE does not download pics

I have used IE for years, without much problem. However, about a week ago, it stopped downloading pictures. Tough to browse ebay when you can't get the pics. I was using ie 6 at the time, tried downloading ie7, with no change. I then uninstalled ie7 and went back to ie 6. Checked the advance tab to make sure that "show pictures" was checked, and it is. All I get are the little red x's. Even when I right click the x and choose "show picture" I get nothing. Firefox continues to download pics ok.

Any suggestions?

try deleting the files in your temporary internet folder.

Thanks for the suggestion. There weren't many files in the temporary folder, but I tried deleting them anyway. No change.

Agree w/ Dan that when these problems arise, I first try to really 'clean-up' IE by deleting temp files, history, & cookies (hate to lose some of the latter); you might want to visit MS Support (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/283807) to see if any of the suggestions listed there are of help; if not, please report back - good luck!

The OP states that Firefox is still able to download images; but, it can be amazing (and frustrating) how these various Web browsers on the same machine can function or malfunction differently - :hmm:
