Wait - don't tell me - you weren't looking for someone incredibly opinionated??

Then why would you believe that because Microsoft says (on the Internet) that you oughta have something installed, it's really true? If I told you to install 'virus.txt' (and hey, I'm MCSE certified!) would you?? 'Course not!

I guess what I'm saying is the obvious - it's your PC. You paid for it. Install what you want, don't blindly trust anyone (except me, of course ).

Personally I dont do updates anymore. Most often than not, the M$ updates mess up people's computers. I installed all the updates 2 times when I first got on the internet in 99. It crashed my computer both times. So I quit. I only update when I am having a problem. I live by the old saying, if it AIN'T brok dont fix it.

Beside, most M$ updates end up having 3 patches to fix that patch to fix the previos patch that fixes 2 previous patches...etc......
