Question why the little red x box instead of pictures

Ughhh. I keep getting a little red box instead of pictures on some websites. When I right click sometimes it gives me an option of show picture (which I click on and it still doesn't show) and sometimes it does not give me an option to show pictures.

When I go and download Adobe flash player, it is like my computer goes and downloads it but then nothing happens and still no picutes.

I have tried googling help for this but I just can't seem to find the answer. Any help would be great.

My son would love to go on Nickjr.com but it keeps saying we need to download the latest version of Adobe flash player. I think I have tried downloading it about 10 times and still nothing.

Smile Red X

so, have you had any problems with pictures not showing up and only getting the little red x in the corner?

I have tried almost everything that people are suggesting but nothing will get rid of them.

Wondering if this is only a Vista problem?

Yeah, they are all embedded swf files.

Try this. Close IE and open Computer. Navigate to C:\Windows\System32 and look for the Macromed folder. Open it and then open the Flash Folder. Find FlashUtil9b and rightclick on it and choose "Run as Administrator". When the UAC prompt appears, select Continue and follow the prompts. Reboot afterwards. Did this work?

red x box

I've read where several others have had problems with Vista not recognizing the Adobe Flash player download. Exactly what you're describing happened to me and it wasn't until someone in this forum shared that he finally just downloaded Mozilla Firefox. I did that and can now view all the pics and videos without problems. I still have IE, and sometimes log too. on with that

Just curious. Have you tried clearing the IE cache to see if that will help?
