Sending Spamless Spam

I have a legitimate list of approx 30,000 emails that I wish to send an email to. (Specifically the list is of students who attend my university and I wish to send them an email on behalf of one of the student organizations I am in).

I believe I am able to work with my campus's networking people so that the bulk email is not regarded as Spam by the server.

However I do not know how to distribute the email. (Gmail isn't going to like 34,000 BCCs).

Is there free and legitimate software I can run on a server to email a large email list? Any suggestions?
