Which Video Card to Buy?

Hello Everyone:

I am planning on building a new computer in the near future and would like your input. My brother says he wants a Geforce 8800 video card for the new system, but they are so expensive. I was told that an 8600 would do me good, but my brother disagrees. I'm looking to build a gaming system + be able to do normal online stuff as well. What would be best? the 8600 or the 8800? My brother says it wouldn't do well in Windows vista either. he's looking at wanting an evga card too.

I agree with your brother, if you want to enjoy gaming with you pc, you should get the 8800, they are better than the 8600, the only thing for you is that you can find some good price on the 8800, you can have a look at this XFX PVT88PUDF4 GeForce 8800GT 256MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 video card, it is on sale for $210. And I think still you can find some good priced 8800 card.

The ATI 3850 should do just fine, and they are cheaper than 8800's. i think you can find them for ~$180. i'm pretty sure you can get them in 512mb sizes too.
