Hi welcome to Cybertech.
How big is the Hard drive in your PC?
When you say it will not read the Floppy or CD drive, do you mean from within Windows or not at all?
Try downloading a Win/95 bootup/startup disk from www.bootdisk.com Download it to the Hard drive then put a formatted floppy in and Click on the file you downloaded. It will Auto extract to the Floppy. Then try it and see if your PC will read from the floppy.
You may need to go into the Bios and set the boot priority to read from the Floppy drive first.
Also, what kind of PC is this? Store bought brand or home built?

Dodge,
Sorry for the lack of info..I wanted to see if someone would reply before I got into this...I have a 486 dx2 from a church, they were going to throw away and I thought I'd try to use it for a project I'm into. Here is all the info I can get off the machine.:
when I fire up, this appears:
0000640k system ram passed
0003072 ext. ram passed
system bios shadowed
video bios shadowed
mouse initialized
incorrect drive A type- run setup
auto typing adaptor 0 slave-auto failed
failure fixed disk 0
Other info I've gleaned:
Phoenix bios v 4.03
Intel plug and play bios extension release 1.1u
njs id: 99j-123-208
I thought I might try doing something in bios, but I"m not to swift in that department..so here I am. Did I make everything clear as mud... LOL!!
