Virus protection can't go online

I have repeatedly tried to go online to update my virus protection and I can never download the new virus updates. It just keeps giving me the same pop-up that there is a new update but everytime I click fix now, it tries to go online and can't. Any suggestions?

Hi sparkles00016. What antivirus program do you have and what error message do you get? Are you able to browse ok?

Hi Ann Marie! I have Norton Internet Protection. There is a yellow caution box that comes up and says that I have one problem that I need to fix now. So when you click fix now, it attempts to go online to the virus updates, but it never makes it through. I have no other browsing problems. I have been able to go online and visit just about any site.

Try uninstalling and reinstalling Norton. Make sure you have your Product Key and then shut it down first from the Icon in your Notification area (bottom righthand corner of the screen) before you uninstall it. Reboot and then go here and run the online Norton Removal Utility. It should get rid of Norton traces.

Reinstall Norton now (reboot again after the reinstall). Do you still have a problem?

Transferring to the Applications Forum.
