AIM 6.5 app problems

I uninstalled AIM 6.5, and attempted to reinstall, i accidentaly chose the optoin to not delete everything and keep some files about my screename and such.

I went to reinstall aim and it wont install...it goes a bit then stops downloading, same with 5.9

i use both firefox and IE7 browsers and it does the same thing on both

what is wrong, and how do i go about installing the aim files left behind completely or at least get aim 6.5 back up and running on my computer

Welcome to the site.

You may have to totally wipe every file off your computer then re-install AIM....

You can use REGSEEKER (www.hoverdesk.net/freeware.htm) and let it clean your registry of all AIM entries (After that you should be able to install any version you wish)

Make sure to delete all files you can find for aim,then run regseeker and take a pass (One of the BEST reg cleaners out there)
