Hi. I have a Canon PowerShot SD 870 IS camera and I've made a few short videos. I went to upload them on my computer and it works out fine. It's just that when I go to play them the files are kind of big I think and every single media player I've tried has issues playing the files. It skips pretty much every couple of seconds. I'm thinking the files are too big. For like a 30 second clip, the file size is around 60 MB. I'm assuming this is the problem.
So I go and save the file in Windows Movie Maker and turn it into a .WMP file. And it plays a little better. The pace of the video just barely seems a little too fast. Other than that, everything works though. However, I still want it as an AVI, or a MPEG would be nice. But I'm not sure how to compress the file while keeping everything the same. I used a program called SUPER, but it seems quite complicated. I copied the specs of the original video as best I could when I used SUPER, but the new version still didn't come out right. And doing it through Windows Movie Maker is kind of an annoying process. So I'm kind of lost. Is there an easier way to compress my video files from my camera? All I want it to do is play better at a smaller size. I don't care if I lose a little bit of quality, it just has to look decent for the most part. I do need it to play without skipping though. Anyone have any suggestions?
