Cannot get Word to open in a specific folder

I can’t see a forum to put this in ???

This is a Strange one !!!

On my computer. I have many folders inside other folders .

My problem is that one of my folders that is inside another folder has a list of word documents in it - which will not open BUT when I move the folder with the word documents in it onto the desktop the word documents will then open.

All of my other word documents will open.

Maybe there is a simple trick to this ?

Thank you Craig

Do you get an error message when you try to open a file within that folder it its original location? If so, what's the exact message?

How exactly are you trying to open the files?
From My Computer/Windows Explorer?
From within Word File>Open?
What is the name of the folder that contains the sub-folder?
