HELP! QuickTime Messes Up My System

Everytime I try to install QuickTime, it messes up my system. I'll install it, then Windows Media Player won't work, I'll sometimes have trouble with my sound, and multimedia CD-ROMs won't play. I have fixed everything, but I am unable to install QuickTime. Anytime I get an enhanced CD (a music CD that has enhanced videos for the computer) I an unable to play it because I don't have QuickTime. Any suggestions on what I can do? I am running Windows ME on a 600 MHz processor, if that helps.

Oh yeah, and I see I have Apple Quicktime - do I need QuickTime for Windows, or is it the same?

when you confrigerate you just associate it with the files windows wont play
it is the apple player but i think when you dnload it it will ask you if it is for windows cant remember for sure but it should work alright it will take over your system if you assotiate it with all the files

I know that...but what my problem is, is that QuickTime messes up my system. When I install it, it knocks out my multimedia - I can't play mulitmedia CD-ROMS, or any type of media. Somehow it messes everything up. Nothing plays - no formats, nothing - when I have it installed. I have it all fixed now, but whenever I try to get QuickTime back that happens. It totally shoots out my multimedia.

My Uncle fixed it. But I still haven't figured out a way to install QuickTime without messing up everything Do you know a way? because the minute I install it, it all gets messed up again.

Tell us about your PC. What OS do you use? Ect. I have both the media player and quick time installed with no problems. I think what may be happiniong is your media file types are being associated with quick time... justa guess.
