I've been trying to burn an .avi file to DVD with no success. I want to be able to play it on most standard DVD players (w/ the TV). I currently have Nero 8. I have DVD-r's.
Any idea how I can on a PC?

.AVI files have to be converted before you can burn them to dvd to play on either computer or standalone dvd players. Where did you get the .avi file from?

It's a home movie that a friend sent me via email. It was already in .avi format when they sent it to me. What do I need to convert it to and which program (plus version) would be best to use to burn the movie? Thanks for your help. I have a 100 pack of 4.7GB DVD-Rs (Memorex) if that helps any. I know my laptop is compatible to burn using those type of DVDs.
