computer freezing problem

Hello all, I have a problem that is occuring more and more often. Ill be playing my games, browsing the web, listening to music, and then out of nowhere my computer will just freeze. I'll have to restart the computer, and when i do it takes literally about 5 minutes. This is a brand new laptop that has barely any apps on it besides a game, a lot of music, and some other basic programs.

In order to solve the problem i tried running Windows Task Manager and see if maybe my cpu usage / RAM was being taken up. I have a shot of when the computer froze, it was at 38% usage and 1.5gb out of 3 RAM capacity. I've run all anti-virus/spyware scans i can.

I have two theories.
1. Maybe my computer is overheating? But then again wouldnt there be a warning of some sort that would tell me that? I'm not quite sure how to check temperature using Vista either.

2. In the problem reports from windows there is a long list of a CLCapSvc Service Hang Report. I have no idea what that is or means, it may have something to do with it but im not sure.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for help.

Welcome to CTH

CLCapSVC Service is used by Cyberlink PowerCinema to record TV in the background while you were watching so that you can pause, rewind, etc.

Do you have Cyberlink Power Cinema? If so it runs in the background and could be causing the freezing.

I honestly don't know if i have the program or not. All i really run on this computer is a game, music, and some instant messaging programs. I'll have to check it out. Thanks.

Although, i still would like to know how to check my computer's temperature also. Does anyone know how to do this?

Also, i checked to see if the Cyberlink Cinema program was even on my computer. It doesn't show on add or remove programs.
