I currently have the following system:msi 6368 motherboard w/8ooc intel processor,256 pc133 ram,2ogig hd,onboard sound, video, lan and modem. My question is can I successfully run windows XP,without a noticeable decrease in speed?I'm on a 56k dialup.I mostly surf the net and email, very little use of graphics.I'm on a tight budget hence the query.Hope someone can point me in the right direction.
Regards to all.

The suggested requirements for running Windows XP are a PC with a 300-MHz or higher Intel Pentium/Celeron family, AMD K6/Athlon/Duron family, or compatible processor
While 64MB is the minimum amount of RAM required, you're probably going to want well over 128MB
You need 1.5GB of available hard disk space.
You need an SVGA or higher-resolution video adapter and monitor capable of at least 800x600 resolution.
dnload and install aida 32 to check your hwd to see if it is compatable
these are the bare minimun and it prob. would not run all that great on them

Errrr....with a 2-gig harddrive, with XP and the swap file, seems to me there won't be much, if any, space left for anything else...unless I read it wrong and 2o means 20.
If that's the case...nevermind. ;)
