Vista Keeps Crashing

For about two weeks now, Vista will all of a sudden crash on me. I wouldn't be doing nothing special. This time, I was just looking at pictures online, and the blue screen of death came up and told me all this computer mumbo-jumbo. But all I could see was the word "crash". So I would restart the computer and a notice comes up with all the details of the crash... So here it is...

Hi fleetwoodmac. I might be able to help. Find both of the below files in bold:

C:\Windows\Minidump\Mini012108-01.dmp
C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Local\Temp\WER-66908-0.sysdata.xml

Zip them up and send them to me please. My email address is anniefriday@xtra.co.nz. Please title your email "Requested Files" and include a link to this topic. I'll post back when I have had a look at them. No promises but I'll give it a shot.

You are welcome fleetwoodmac. I have checked out the files you sent me and it looks as though HSX_CNXT.sys is causing the problem. This is a Conexant Systems modem driver. It also looks as though you updated this driver at some time the past few months so you could try rolling back to the previous version and see if the crashes stop. Alternatively, you could try reinstalling the update again.
