Cant upload any files please help

hey. i cant upload any files, from mp3 files, to images, to anything. I have windows XP, i have charter communications internet, i also have a linksys router, but i took it off and just hooked my cables straight to the box, which is a webstar, because i thought that would fix my problem (since with it straight to the box i can host things). ive tried many sites, and every time itry to upload something whether its a movie or image or any file, an error comes up and says "error connecting to page" and says to check my settings. Ive tried using both firefox and IE, both of them have the same result, ive tried using the router and disconnecting it, and i still have the same problem so i dont know what to do. So if anyone knows a way i could fix this or needs any further info, please let me know. Thanks.

no i can use the internet fine, im on it now. i can downlaod files fine, but when i try to upload anything to any site, it just says there is an error connecting. This has never happened and i dont know what to do.

where are you trying to upload the files to? Most places will not allow you to upload media type files.

ok listen. ill be more in depth its really simple

ANY site i go to i cant upload anything, ive tried imageshack with like 15 different images all which would normally be uploading fine. i tried other image hosting sites, i tried youtube as well on a video, tried on forums, tried on soundclick which is what im trying to do mainly, and also tried on tinypic.com none of the sites work for any file so it is something wrong with my computer.

i have a linksys router but i dont haev it hooked up anymore cause it doesnt work and i have a webstar cable box and that is what im using for internet.

i also cant connect on FTP it also gives me the same message. the message i get is this:

by the way i also tried it in internet explorer, doesnt work. before i could normall upload files now i can not and i dont know what to do or what the problem is. I do not use a firewall because it gest in the way. So that wouldnt be it, and i reconnected my internet connection like 3 times.
