View Full Version : new router problem. HELP.

I need your help. i just replaced my old router (some linksys wireless) with a d-link xtreme n gigbit. i followed the instruction on the cd. after i pulled out my old router and replaced it with the new one. then it verifies everything everything passes but then it says NO INTERNET, then i get a "limited connection or no connectivity" message. i cant figure it out. i tried resetting my modem and the router. still doesnt work. if anyone can guide/help me with this. i would greatly appreiciate it. thanks.

running windows xp sp2.

Hi jSouth, We could use a bit more info to see what we can do.

Can you tell what version of windows you are running and what you have for a wireless adapter?

Also, what do have for a broadband connection?

Can youget a wired connection with the new router? That is usually the best place to start, then move on to a wireless connection.

Lastly, can you run ipcofig/all while connected to the new router and post back the info.

no wireless adapters, running verizon dsl, everything is all wired no wireless as if now. and ill the try ipconfig today an give u more info. thanks alot.

JS - I assume by these comments that you were able to resolve your problem w/ the new router - out of courtesy to others who might be having a similar issue, please tell us what the problem was & how your found a solution - again, might be a great help to others & a worthwhile contribution to the thread & forum - thanks, if your respond - :happy:
