I bought a wireless adapter for my Linksys WAG354G router today, and I've been trying to set it up.

On the computer that I want the wireless on, it will install and connect to the router but then it tells me the following:

"You are connected to the access point, but the internet cannot be found"

The router is around 10ft away, but for whatever reason it's not picking up an internet connection. I'm on a computer that's wired to the router and the internet is fine on it.

Any ideas?

Welcome to the CTH Forum -

You might want to provide some more information on your system - e.g. computers beings used (brand/model), OS, brand/model of the 'wireless' adapter. Does the computer w/ the 'wireless' adapter work w/ your router if wired directly? With the adapter in place, you might want to check 'Device Manager' to determine the status of the adapter (i.e. any yellow ! or red X?). Also, is the router setup already w/ 'wireless' security and/or MAC filtering? Just a start - please reply & good luck!

Sorted! I hadn't set up the WEP Encryption correctly.

Thanks giradman, you can close this if you like.
