for instance if i have 5 documents on usb that match XP comp and the like a vista comp and add one document to usb how can i sychronize them without directly transfering.

if u can advise on free and paid programs that do this please do

maybe I need more sleep but I am not sure of what you are trying to do. Are you trying to sync between two computers and a usb drive? Are you trying to sync with a file on the usb and move the usb drive to another compute? Are you on a network?

see this for some sync utilities.
