Topic!
Why do they wanna buy off every company out there?
They do that alot with video game companies.
So why do they wanna do that?
Are they just desperate or something?
Cant they just try to build better stuff them selves?
Then trying to buy off the entire network.
If I was yahoo owners, I would not sell to anyone.
I dont care about there price tag, what do you think?

It's just the way MicroSoft do business. They've got a long history of doing this sort of acquisition and it hasn't hurt them (with one or two notable exceptions) in the past.
If you want more market share, buy a top competitor!

Here's a list of major shareholders (http://finance.yahoo.com/q/mh?s=YHOO) - depends if they want to realise a shedload of dollars now or just keep taking the premiums.

Lets be real, Yahoo are bigger n00bs than Microsoft and they deserved it. Look at it this way, do you want Google owning Yahoo?

I'd hardly call Yahoo n00bs, they've been in the game a while now.

Reports today suggest Yahoo board has put the kibosh on the deal anyway.

yep, according to reports Yahoo's board said no...but that does not mean microsoft will not try to just buy up stock from individuals to take control away from the board.

Perhaps you got Google and MySpace (NewsCorp) mixed up?

Or maybe you meant AOL, not Google?

Hmmm.... I think I heard a report on CNN just around the 3pm EST hour today about a possible Microsoft/Yahoo merger. I'm going to search the Internet on news and business websites about this.

The news between Yahoo and Microsoft is very interesting. I have a Yahoo! and a Windows Live account.

I'll keep up to date about the news about the Yahoo/Microsoft developments.
