Hi mcmanlypants. Go here and download Silent Runners.vbs to a new folder on your Desktop (Clicking the the download link works if you use IE. If you use FireFox, rightclick on the link and choose "Save Link As") and run it. It generates a log too. It takes a minute or two and it will notify you with a popup when your log is ready (make sure you wait for the popups please) Please post the information back in this thread too (you may need to make a couple of posts). If your antivirus program queries the script, allow it to run. It's not malicious.

There is a malware startup showing but the file has been deleted. We will get rid of it and see if this helps.

Click on Start and type cmd in the Start Search box. Cmd.exe will appear at the top of the Menu. Rightclick on it and choose "Run as Administrator". Copy and paste the following command in the Code box after the prompt > and hit Enter:

Code:
reg delete "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows" /v load
You will get a message asking if you want to permanently delete the key. Type Y and hit Enter. You should get a message saying the operation was successful.

Reboot and tell me if you still get the rundll error.

Yeah, very odd. The Run box is not available by default in Vista. Not to worry though, the main thing is that your problem is fixed.

I was a bit concerned to see that malware startup though and would suggest that you run an online scan just to be certain that there are no baddies lurking.

Disable your antivirus program and go here -> http://www.eset.com/onlinescan and run an online scan using ESET Online Scanner (you will need to use Internet Explorer for this scan). If you accept the Terms of Use, check the box and click Start. After the ActiveX Control has loaded, it will take a couple minutes for the scanner to get ready. Next, check the following boxes:

Remove found threats
Scan unwanted applications

Click Start. This scan may take a while, so please be patient. If any malware files are found, go to C:\Program Files\EsetOnlineScanner\ and open the file log.txt. Click Edit - Select All then copy/paste that log back here.
