Keep getting kicked off network

I have a D-Link 624 and a laptop running xp home. I recently had to change my encryption from wep to wpa-psk so my cell phone can connect to my network. My laptop will connect but gets thrown off after a few minutes and I get limited connectivity message. If I do a repair I get back on. If I am using the computer It seems to stay connected. Is there some idle timeout I need to adjust?

We can try a few things.

Is the laptop going into standby? (just checking...)

Go to the properties for the network adapter and go the power management section. Make sure that the option to allow windows to disable the device to save power is not checked.

At the router bump up the DHCP lease time to a week if it isn't already set to that.
