DDR Ram in Windows ME

Hi all.

I'm just about to upgrade my PC (Motherboard = Gigabyte GA-7VA/CPU = AthlonXP 2200/ 512 PC2700 DDR Ram) and would love some advise regarding the Ram.

I currently run Windows ME and to be perfectly honest I have found it very stable (Unlike all the horror story's I hear!) but am a little concerned about Windows ME properly utilising 512Mb PC2700 DDR Ram. I currently have 640Mb PC133 installed and have no problems (Vcache adjusted) but would that Operating System eventually hold back my new Machine or should I go to XP as up until now I have not needed?

Thanks for your time.

well iguess you and i are in a minority i dont have any prob. with me either but i diden care for it much when it first come out but now i find it works fine after you relieze that you have to pull a little maintence on it

512 should work fine on me and if you get a little prob you can adjust your v cache

i am running xp now and i think it is one of the best oc microsoft ever come out with for home and small buiss, after you get some of thier default bells and whisles crap off it tries to be way to user friendely / just a little chat and something for you to think about

Thanks Cody.

I think I'll be putting XP on.

"Windows ME" has served me well though.
