I have a computer which wont turn on. I press the button and nothing. The fuse in the plug is fine. It worked perfectly an hour ago. When I press the computer button sometimes a green dot is visable for half a second or less. I took the housing off and there was a red light on the motherboard that flashes. Can any one throw any light on the problem please. Thank you

Your power supply might be down

A good consideration! I came home from a FL vacation a month ago, and 'turned-on' my 2 y/o Dell desktop - nothing happened! Called Dell & got the usual 'off shore' support - UGHH! The guy had me eventually pulling cards inside, and I told him this machine is still under warranty and is goin' into a local shop to check the PSU - 2 days later w/ a new PSU, the machine was fine!

Maybe others can give you additional steps to check your CPU, memory, etc. but if 'nothing' is happening & no beeps, etc., the PSU is a likely source of your problem! Good luck in finding a solution, and please report back to this thread - might help others - thanks.
