I have a PC that operates on Windows Vista. I bought a software called High School Success Deluxe 2008. At first it was working absolutely fine. Now, not so much wheather it be chemistry, biology, American history, american government, writing, or grammar. When it starts up I click on my name, it goes to the table of contents to choose a chapter. Then it goes to the lesson, but before the lesson loads, an error message appears that says:

A Fatal Error has occurred. Click OK to Quit.

So I click ok and then it says:

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate in an usual way. Please contact the applications support team for more information.

I did contact the company that made the software and they basically said that there was nothing that I could do except return the item for a refund. And before I do that I just wanted to make that there was really nothing I could do. If anyone could help me I would be so thankful.

According to what I can find out about High School Success Deluxe 2008, it runs on Windows XP only. Since the support team was willing to let you return it for a refund, I expect they aren't interested in making it compatible with Vista any time soon.

One thing you can try is to see if it will run in compatibility mode. To do that, right click on the shortcut you use to open High School Success Deluxe 2008, left click on Properties. In the window that opens, go to the Compatibility tab, check the box for "Run this program in compatibility mode for" and select Windows XP in the drop-down list. Click OK. See if that gets it to run.

Of the 36 software packages by that same publisher, Topics Entertainment, listed on Amazon, only two were marked as Vista compatible. That and the offer to refund your money (seldom offered so quickly ;) ) shoots down hope that High School Success Deluxe 2008 will work on Vista.
