Hi jaws 2 - I dont know if you were able to find a solution in the links that eagle provided or not but if you are still having this problem, try this, download mcrepair.exe from here. Close IE, run mcrepair.exe and reboot afterwards.

(When you run this executable, it asks you whether you wish to overwrite newer files, make sure to click YES for each file.)

Let us know how you get on. This might help with your browser problems too but it would probably be a good idea if we had a look at your startups. Go here and download and run Startup List. It will generate a log file. Copy the log and paste it back into this thread.

Hi again jaws 2 - you have a BHO installed by MediaLoads (a known parasite) that may well be causing your problems with IE. Go here and download and install BHO Demon and use it to disable the below BHO:

MediaLoads Enhanced - C:\PROGRAM FILES\MEDIALOADS ENHANCED\ME1.DLL - {85A702BA-EA8F-4B83-AA07-07A5186ACD7E}

Next, open your browser and go to Tools > Internet Options and click on the General Tab. Click on Settings (next to Temporary Internet Files) and then click on View Objects. Rightclick on each and choose Properties. If there is anything there that you dont know what it is (microsoft, apple, macromedia etc are OK) or where it came from,delete it. If there are any damaged controls there, delete those also.

I see that you have no antivirus software installed. It would be a good idea to run an online antivirus scan as well. You can do this here. If you get a clean bill of health, why not install Grisoft AVG. It's freeware.

Are you still getting the "incompatible version of the rpc stub" error message after running msrepair.exe? Also let us know if IE still crashes after your have disabled the BHO etc.

You are very welcome jaws 2. If you get a clean bill of health from Housecall, could you please post the make and model of your printer. Also, how long have you had the problem and did it co-incide with the installation of any hardware or software.

That's OK Jaws 2. It's not really a big problem, the virus has been backed up in your System Restore folder. Follow the instructions here to get rid of the infected files.

Once you have cleaned your system and installed AVG, try printing again and see if you still have a problem.

Try uninstalling your printer, rebooting and then reinstalling it. Let us know if this helps.

After you disabled System Restore and rebooted, did you re-enable it again? Have a look in the link I posted for instructions.
